Greetings and Welcome,

This website features many early recordings from my personal collection of vintage discs and cylinders. The timeframe is from the earliest commercial recordings in 1889, well 1895 is my own confirmed oldest, up to the eve of the Big Band Era in 1933. All kinds of music and speech are represented, though I do favor some more than others. My favorite artists are Ted Lewis and Harry Lauder and you will find special sections for them below. The numbers quoted for each company are for each side uploaded, since some also produced single-sided discs and cylinders. This website is ever-growing so please check back often for "new" material! In addition, NBC Radio's coverage of the Pearl Harbor attack from 2:00PM on December 7, 1941 through the end of the next day on December 8th is available towards the bottom of the page. That's 61.5 hours total from the Red and Blue Networks! Also, if you want to listen without clicking every few minutes, Century-Old Sounds Radio offers the better sounding records in an automated format.

Thank you,

Kevin D. Davis
